Accelerated Care Plus (ACP) is a modality driven rehab approach that provides clinical tools focusing on the complex medical needs of the elderly. ACP uses a collaborative, multidisciplinary approach to provide safe, non-invasive, drug-free treatment interventions. This treatment approach uses state of the art physical agent modalities such as ultrasound, electrical stim, and infrared therapy as an adjunct to traditional treatment, in order to more efficiently and comprehensively rehab our geriatric patients. Specific programs include, but are not limited to,: Stoke Rehabilitation, Incontinence, Wound Care, Falls and Balance, Contracture Management, Carpal Tunnel Syndrome, Joint Replacement, and Peripheral Neuropathy.

Living Moments
The Living Moments Program is a comprehensive program designed exclusively for those with Alzheimer’s and dementia. The program consists of very specific standards that need to be in place to ensure the best quality of care for the individuals who have Alzheimer’s/Dementia. These standards are:
  • Specific admission criteria for the unit
  • Daily activity programs designed to be individual to the needs of every resident
  • Clinical assessments that assist the staff with taking care of the specific needs that these individuals have
  • Program coordinator who is responsible for the entire unit
  • Staffing requirements
  • 14 modules of specific training mandated by the Living Moments program for all staff
  • Flexible and participative dining program

These standards ensure that we are not only providing a dementia unit but one that is required to have certain key components as recommended by research and evidence based outcomes for those individuals with Alzheimer’s and dementia. We call the unit “Living Moments” as we acknowledge that these individuals are truly “living in the moment” as their memories are more difficult to remember. We cherish the moments that we have everyday with the residents on the Living Moments unit. By finding out their life story we are able to treasure the moments that we are with them.
